Less than an hour before tipoff. Nazareth vs Calvert. Class 1 A D2 Star Championship!!!
It's been almost 20 years since I broadcasted at a State Basketball Tournament and it was fun to cover the Nazareth girls tonight on KNNK and KZZN. They defeated Lioan to advance. I'll have the call with my partner Kay tomorrow as they take on Calvert in the Championship game on KNNK/ KZZN and knnkradio.com. Tipoff at 7. Pregame 6:45.
I’m Terry Slavens, General Manager and Operator of KATX Radio. By now I assume most of you are aware of the highly contested political race for Texas District 60 State Representative. Just checkineg your mail on a daily basis and you will find multiple mailers for or against one of the two candidates from the candidates themselves or from third party groups. There has been much coverage of the claims that have been made in this contest on television, in newspapers, on facebook and many other places. I’m not going to get into whether funny math was involved or half truths or outright falsehoods. However I do think it is important to look at who is behind the endorsements for the two candidates. While it appears the bulk of the support for Cullen Crisp appears to come from two groups, Empower Texans and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, they are basically one in the same as the bulk of their financial support comes from one individual. To me the plural use of the word Texans should actually be in the singular. The incumbent Rep Jim Keffer has the endorsements of many third party organizations that truly represent many Texans including the NRA and the Texas Farm Bureau. To me those endorsements are actual endorsements based on facts. Please exercise your right to vote this election day and help us return Rep Keffer back to Austin to continue to fight for each county in district 60.
